Gem of an Engagement: Helping Zimmer Brothers Jewelers Sparkle

Objective:

Zimmer Brothers Jewelers sought out Impact PR & Communications (IPR&C) to promote its 130th anniversary and the announcement of its first female, and fifth generation president, Jocelyn Zimmer. After a successful three-month engagement, resulting in over 20 media placements with over 66 million impressions, Zimmer Brothers Jewelers re-engaged IPR&C to further elevate its profile and position Jocelyn Zimmer as an industry leader.

Strategy:

    • Meet with Zimmer Brothers Jewelers’ team to discuss goals, identify campaign objectives and share ideas.
    • With established goals in mind, create key messages and story angles to utilize throughout the engagement.
    • Develop a targeted media list inclusive of national, regional and local press, including trade-specific and consumer-facing publications.
    • Disseminate press materials such as an introductory media note, an announcement press release and targeted pitches.
    • Conduct follow-up pitching efforts with key reporters to secure media interest and interviews with Jocelyn Zimmer.
    • Collaborate with the Dutchess Community College Foundation to establish an endowed scholarship.
    • Nominate Jocelyn Zimmer for Hudson Valley Magazine’s Women in Business Award to strengthen her position as a local leader.

Results:

Over the course of a cumulative 6-months working on behalf of Zimmer Brothers Jewelers, IPR&C garnered the following results:

  • Following the success of the initial 3-month PR campaign, Zimmer Brothers Jewelers re-engaged with IPR&C to continue the positive media momentum.
  • A total of 36 secured placements with more than 68,627,265 total media impressions.
  • Profile stories on Jocelyn Zimmer in outlets such as Rapaport, Sanctuary Magazine, Rock & Gem Magazine and Hudson Valley Magazine, as well as an expert quote from Jocelyn in Woman’s World, among others.
  • Successful establishment of Zimmer Brothers Jewelers Women in Business Scholarship to be awarded annually to a full-time Dutchess Community College student pursuing a Business Administration Transfer Program or related field.
  • Jocelyn Zimmer was recognized as one of Hudson Valley Magazine’s Top Women in Business.

From the moment our engagement began, Impact worked diligently to share important announcements, garner media attention and establish me as an expert, both locally and nationally. The initial wave of publicity not only boosted our visibility but translated into tangible connections within the community; customers have walked into the store recognizing us, and around town, people have stopped me to say they’ve seen our story. I couldn’t be more grateful for Kayla, Kristin and Filomena’s expertise and dedication in making this happen.
