Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

Objective

Impact PR & Communications was tapped with building Yorkville Sports Association’s (YSA) presence in Westchester County, as well as within the business and sports industry with a six-month public relations and social media program. Impact PR worked with the in-house team to create key messages that positioned YSA as the leading developer of corporate and recreations sports leagues within Westchester County and New York City through the use of traditional and social media.

Strategy

  • Using statistics and studies, showcase the benefits of corporate sports leagues such as employee morale and camaraderie in the workplace
  • Build buzz on new league expansion in Westchester County
  • Expand coverage to include outlets geared towards the 50+ community
  • Build excitement around YSA’s 40th anniversary through media and a celebratory event

Results

  • Garnered more than 60 media placements in targeted online and print media outlets, including Westchester Magazine, 914 Inc., Westchester County Business Journal, Westchester Senior Voice, Community Health and Fierce CEO, yielding 92,100 media impressions
  • Planned and executed a 40th anniversary celebration to benefit Special Olympics New York – Hudson Valley, attended by key local dignitaries and community business leaders
  • Established a consistent voice and message through traditional and social media
  • Increased the number of followers on Instagram by 28%, Twitter by 10% and Facebook by 6.5%
