Classes are officially out of session, which is an exciting time for the Impact team as we bring on our incredible summer intern, Paige Duffany, a rising senior at Marist College. Over the course of the next few months, we hope you get the chance to meet Paige, but in the meantime, here’s your chance to get to know her a bit better.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
I would describe myself as optimistic, dependable, and diligent.
I am an extremely positive and cheerful person who views life with a glass half full mindset. I am also a dependable student who constantly pushes myself to create high quality work and succeed at any task.
What are you most excited about in your new role at Impact?
I am most excited to see the PR puzzle come together; my college PR experience, specifically my education and my internship opportunities within this field have given me the opportunity to become accustomed to the expectations and realities of an active PR firm. This internship with Impact will allow me to piece together all my knowledge and past experiences to understand how everything works and flows together.
Tell us one thing about yourself that would surprise us?
One thing about me that would surprise everyone is that I can juggle! When I played travel softball, one of our requirements was to learn to juggle to practice hand-eye coordination or we had to do push-ups!
What is your favorite kind of food? My favorite kind of food is Italian food! Although I have no Italian genes, I still love the food!
Who is your role model and why?
My role model is my mom. Her patience, support, kindness, and altruistic nature have become a motivation for me to strive to become just like her. She always puts our family before her own needs, will help me study for any exam, and will be there to help in any way she can.
What are your favorite Hudson Valley hotspots?
Some of my favorite Hudson Valley hotspots are Eastdale Village in Poughkeepsie, specifically Amanda’s Macarons and Chakra Bowls. I also love Mill House and Lolita’s Pizza.
Favorite magazine or publication?
My favorite magazine is National Geographic. Ever since I was younger, I have always been fascinated by geography, archeology, earth science, and other environmental news. In a world of crazy political debate, it’s an escape to focus on news stories that include new scientific discoveries, rising environmental issues, travel, and more!
What are you most looking forward to learning?
I am most excited to learn about crisis communication tactics and techniques. During my time at Marist, I have taken a course surrounding these ideas and implementing them. I am very excited to apply them in real time, as well as determine what would work best for the client at hand.
