#MeetTheTeam: Impact Welcomes Sarah Marques

January 29, 2025

Classes are back in session following the winter break and that means we have some exciting news to share! This month we’re welcoming our new intern, Sarah Marques, to the team. Sarah is currently completing her master’s degree in Marist University’s Integrated Marketing Communications program and plans to graduate in May of this year. Want the full scoop on Sarah? Keep reading on for a chance to get to know her better!

How would you describe yourself in three words?

In three words, I would describe myself as unique, thoughtful and determined.

What are you most excited about in your new role at Impact?

I am most excited about in-person meet ups. I cannot wait to meet everyone in-person and learn more about the team structure, as well as learning from other PR professionals. I’m also looking forward to meeting the clients and to reaching out to media outlets for client-facing projects.

Tell us one thing about yourself that would surprise us?

One thing about me that would surprise you is that my mom recently bought a new townhouse in 2023, owned by Sammi Sweetheart from Jersey Shore. No one in my family got to meet her, but she was the one who sold it to my mom and on one of the Jersey Shore episodes, they actually filmed Sammi inside our house.

What is your favorite kind of food?

My favorite kind of food is cheese. I don’t think there is a type of cheese that I don’t like.

Who is your role model and why?

My role model is definitely my mom. I have always looked up to her and how strong she is. She is someone who knows how to have fun while also working hard. I admire how she isn’t afraid of what stands in her way because, in the end, she always finds a way to get through it and come out of it stronger than ever.

What are your favorite Hudson Valley hotspots?

I am not from the Hudson Valley but judging on where I have been while studying at Marist, I would say my favorite hotspots are probably Eastdale Village, Hyde Park and Rhinebeck.

Favorite magazine or publication?

My favorite magazine or publication for a while was Buzzfeed. As I’ve grown, I now come to appreciate the New York Times and TIME, as well.

What are you most looking forward to learning?

What I am most looking forward to learning about during my time here is how significant PR is on a business’s image and how it enhances that. I am excited to be behind-the-scenes and participating in projects that truly satisfy clients. Specifically, I am eager to learn what is behind successful campaigns.
